Responsibilities

The Parks Division is highly active with responsibilities that extend well beyond the parks. From lawn maintenance and grass mowing to flowerbeds and landscaping. The division maintains 9 baseball fields, 7 soccer fields, and the Memorial Park football field. Parks employees assist in setting up many community events and festivals, including playing Santa's helpers, decorating the city for Christmas. Parks Division employees also do building maintenance, snow removal, and of course, maintain 8 beautiful parks.

Adopt-A-Flowerbed

The Parks Division plants and maintains numerous flowerbeds in the parks, at city buildings, as well as both the Kelly Road and Gratiot Avenue medians. You, your family, civic or athletic organization, school, or business can help with this beautification of Eastpointe by adopting a flowerbed. You do not need a green thumb, only a desire to make Eastpointe alive with color. Contact the Parks Maintenance Office at 586-441-1118 or click here for more information.

Honorary Memorial Tree Program

If you would like to purchase a tree in memory of, or honoring a loved one, to be planted in a park, you may do so. Applications are available at City Hall. For more information, contact Mary at the Parks office at (586) 441-1118. Click here for more information.
